Whereas Kevin Verpaele was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, he actually grew up in Merritt Island, Florida, graduating from Merritt Island High School in 1999. Soon after, he received a football scholarship to attend the University of South Florida, where he became a strong safety. Impressively, while playing football, he was also married and raising a child, and drawing praise for his parenting skills. Perhaps it was because he used to leave football practice early during the season so he could pick up his daughter from daycare, wearing his full uniform, including padding. Tp demonstrate how he could successfully handle both commitments, however, he always returned to practice.
After completing his college studies, Kevin Verpaele moved his family to a home in Melbourne, in Brevard County, Florida. Ever since, Kevin Verpaele has managed to compile a significant amount of work experience; almost 15 years, all told, including time as a configuration manager for the Space Lift Range Systems at Patrick Air Force Base. Kevin Verpaele currently owns and operates Critter Ridders Pest Control in Brevard County, a business that offers a wide range of pest prevention and remediation services to residential and commercial properties countywide.
The fact of the matter is, family and career both hold an equally important place in Kevin Verpaele’s life. In fact, there is no doubt at all that Kevin is most proud of his family. The daughter he used to pick up in the middle of football practice is currently a sophomore at the University of Alabama, and she has a high enough grade point average to land her on the Dean’s List. Simultaneously, another of his daughters is a freshman varsity soccer player at Cocoa Beach High School, even as she plays club soccer for Orlando City, while his son, currently in middle school, plays lacrosse and also plays in the school orchestra.
